Many directors see the cultural, natural and architectural potential of this country, and take their cameras and actors there. Because of this richness that Spain has to offers, many films have been shot there that have triumphed around the world.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (Episode II)
Sevilla was the setting for one of the most famous films shot in Spain. The incomparable beauty of Plaza de España was enough for the director to fall in love with the scenery and bring two of the main actors of the saga there. It was only a couple of minutes and it was not exactly a decisive scene, but the city's Plaza de España became Theed's spaceport, where Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2 were greeted.

Fast and Furious 6
Tenerife hosted this Universal Pictures production in the months of September and October of 2012. Tenerife served as a unique filming location for this movie. The film directed by Justin Lin was shot in the towns of Guía de Isora, Adeje, Santiago del Teide, San Juan de la Rambla, Garachico, Icod and Buenavista. Additionally, a motorway in Gran Canaria is home to one of the craziest and most unlikely chases from this movie.
Game of Thrones
Indeed Game of Thrones is not a movie, however, the producers of the series also fell in love with Spain in such way that more than 14 locations were chosen in Spain.
Andalusia was one of the first places in Spain where Game of Thrones was filmed. In 2014 a team set up in Alcazar in Seville to give shape to the kingdom of Dorne as well as recording aerial shots of the Roman Bridge of Cordoba, which became the long bridge across the Rhoyne River connecting the two areas of the Free City of Volantis. Not to mention, the most emblematic shoot of the fifth season was taken in Osuna in Sevilla, which was transformed into the Daznak pit in the district of Meereen. In this location, Daenerys Targaryen rules and is ambushed by the sons of the Harpy. Drogon comes to her aid and this is the first time we see Daenerys fly on one of her dragons.
In the following seasons, Andalusia becomes a common place for shoots for the series.
A special mention goes to Dragonstone, the island of the house Targaryen, which was shot in northern Spain. There, one of the most iconic images of the series was produced: Daenerys' dragons flying over the monastery of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in the Basque Country.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The greatest hits of recent cinema have also found perfect locations for filming in Spain. It was precisely at Cap de Gata, on the beach at Mónsul, that Steven Spielberg directed the scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which Sean Connery scares seagulls with his umbrella to shoot down a German plane.
The Cap de Gata Natural Park in Almería and the Plaza de España in Seville were also home to the classic film Lawrence of Arabia.
A special mention goes to Almería that has hosted many popular years over the years due to its spectacular landscapes. Clint Eastwood made his debut in the famous genre of the spaghetti Western: the Tabernas desert was used as a film set for films such as A Fistful of Dollars, A few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Some of the purpose-built Wild West sets and villages can still be seen from that time.
