What does Habitat for Humanity do

Why Habitat for Humanity Great Britain?

The lack of decent housing is a global problem. Living in substandard housing, or not having access to it, is the main obstacle to social mobility, economic inclusion, and a healthy life. The lack of opportunities is a reality for more than 1.6 billion people around the world.

Habitat for Humanity Great Britain has a vision of a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. We believe that a decent home helps to permanently break the cycle of poverty and allows families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance.

Our global projects increase access to housing for millions worldwide. Each year through construction, advocating for land rights, increasing access to finance for housing, water, and sanitation projects, Habitat for Humanity Great Britain is working to ensure households have resilient homes and community infrastructure. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped over 39 million people around the world, build or improve the place they call home.
